Give Thanks For Family, Food And A Safe Thanksgiving

Don’t let accidents or carelessness mar your well-planned holiday festivities. A few simple precautions will keep your holidays safe and help make them happy. Give thanks for family, food , and a safe Thanksgiving.

Before inviting house guest, install a smoke detector, Carbon monoxide detector on every level of the house. A good place for them in near the bedrooms.If you already have detectors in your home test them before the guest arrive. If you have not replaced the batteries lately, do it now.

Buy a kitchen-sized fire extinguisher and keep it near the stove, and learn how to use it.

Unclutter your cooking area. Remove paper products, paper towels and holiday decorations that are close enough to the stove to catch fire.

Keep kids out of the kitchen unless they are helping prepare the meal and are cautiously supervised.

If you are the cook. forego loose long sleeves or dangling jewelry that can get caught on pot handles.

If a fire breaks out on the stove, cover the pan with a lid or cookie sheet to smother the flames.
