2007 Cumming Country Fair & Festival Offers Affordable Family Fun

The Cumming Country Fair & Festival, which takes place Thursday, Oct. 4, through Sunday, Oct. 14, at the Cumming Fairgrounds in Forsyth County, is an affordable family outing providing entertainment around every corner. Free living history exhibits, concerts and attractions provide something for everyone at the right price.

By visiting the fair on a discount day, you can get more bang for your buck. The schedule of special events and performances for this year includes:

Thursday, October 4: Northside Hospital Forsyth Day, with free admission and unlimited rides for $18.

Friday, October 5: LoCash Cowboys perform at 7 p.m. and Povertyneck Hillbillies take the stage at 8:30 p.m.; Matt Daryl sings the National Anthem

Saturday, October 6: Kids Day, with free admission for children 12 and under from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. All ages ride two for the price of one from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Matt Daryl performs at 9 p.m. 

Sunday, October 7: The Fish Family Fun day featuring Veggie Tales from 2 to 5 p.m. Adults receive $1 off admission with a church bulletin and senior citizens 55 and over are admitted for free. Two ride for the price of one, 12:30 to 3 p.m.

Monday, October 8: Student night admits everyone 18 and under for free. Unlimited rides are just $15. Fireworks spark up the night at 9 p.m.

Tuesday, October 9: Enjoy unlimited rides for $18. Todd Agnew’s Better Questions Tour featuring Rush of Fools and Joy Whitlock perform in concert at 7 p.m.

Wednesday, October 10: The Charlie Daniels Band, sponsored by The Georgia Lottery, performs at 8 p.m.

Thursday, October 11: Bo Bice takes the stage at 8 p.m.

Friday, October 12: Chase Mitchell opens at 7 p.m., and Heartland performs at 9 p.m. Prior to the Heartland concert, there will be an autographed guitar giveaway sponsored by the Georgia Lottery and one lucky winner will take home a truck from Carl Black Roswell GMC.

Saturday, October 13: Free admission and rides from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Two ride for the price of one from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It’s also Georgia Lottery Day, and those with nonwinning lottery tickets receive $1 off the price of an adult admission.

Sunday, October 14: Last day! This is your last chance to see all of the daily attractions, so be sure to head out to the Fair.

Advance tickets became available on September 4. Advance ticket prices are $4 for adults, $1 for children ages 7 to 18, $1 postage and handling fee. They can be purchased at the Fairgrounds Office, or you may send a check or money order to Cumming Country Fair & Festival to: Advance Tickets, Cumming Country Fair & Festival, 235 Castleberry Rd., Cumming, GA 30040. Orders must be received by September 28, 2007.

Regular ticket prices are $5 for adults, $2 for students ages 7 to 18 and free for children six and under. Parking is $3. 
To visit the Cumming Fairgrounds, take Georgia 400 north to Exit 15 (Bald Marina Road) and turn left. Go straight through four traffic lights and bear left on Highway 20 east. At the first light, turn right on Castleberry Road. The Fairgrounds are on the right.
